Dear DVS Stakeholders & Friends,
It's been busy in Atlanta! Here is an update of some recent events at DigitalVision Systems:
VisionOptimizer makes debut at Vision Expo West in Las Vegas. DigitalVision was one of eight companies invited to present our VisionOptimizer system at the Future in Focus innovation forum and our technology was voted "Most Poised for Success" by a sold-out audience. However, we had no time to celebrate or hit the casinos because Brian Hauser scheduled dawn-to-dusk meetings with industry executives who are interested in our Beta and Commercial Production Programs for 2015.

DVS wins "Most Poised for Success"
At Vision Expo West in Las Vegas on September 16th, DVS was one of eight companies invited to present at the Future In Focus Showcase, an exposition that featured the latest innovations in the optical industry. DVS' VisionOptimizer was voted "Most Poised for Success" by the sold-out audience.

NVI and KKR visit with DigitalVision
DVS CEO Keith Thompson MD, NVI CEO Reade Fahs, and DVS CTO Jose Garcia (left to right) discuss how DVS’s VisionOptimizer technology can improve quality and decrease costs in NVI’s 800 optical retail stores in the United States. KKR recently purchased majority interest in NVI from Berkshire Partners for approximately $1B. DVS hosted NVI, KKR and Berkshire executives at the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI) on the GA Tech Campus. DVS’s VisionOptimizer is a novel technology platform for vision care that will enter the market in 2015. NVI is a lead investor in DVS and a go-to-market partner for the company’s VisionOptimizer device.

DVS team celebrates the closing of the Company’s tranche I funding
DigitalVision System’s engineering team celebrates the closing of the Company’s tranche I funding with National Vision, Inc. on September 20, 2013 in the company’s quarters in the Global Center of Medical Innovation on the GA Tech campus. The funding will permit the Company to build the VisionOptimizer (DVO) and to conduct clinical trials at Georgia Tech later this Fall. The VisionOptimizer will usher in a new era in vision care, providing patients with an all-new clinical experience and with custom-fabricated corrective products that enhance eyesight and wearing comfort. For the first time, manufacturers will be able to demonstrate the optical properties of their products to customers in the exam chair. The DVO’s advanced electro-optical technology will permit providers to increase efficiency and lower costs in their eye clinics and optical retail stores.
NVI, Inc., based in Lawrenceville is the fourth largest optical retailer in the United States and operates 752 stores under several brands. -

Secretary of Commerce Stops in Atlanta
DigitalVision Systems CEO Keith Thompson briefs Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on the company's new vision testing technology at the Global Center for Medical Innovation. Pritzker visited Atlanta on August 23, 2013 to learn how Georgia Tech is creating an ecosystem that supports technology start ups. DVS' VisionOptimizer has the potential to change the vision care industry and will enter clinical trials in late 2013.
